March 11, 2022: Station Casinos breaks ground on Durango Casino & Resort, the newest hotel and casino destination in Las Vegas.
Late 2023: Durango Resort opens to the public.
In between, an oasis in the desert is built.
Inspired by the warm colors and vibrant landscapes of the desert, Durango will offer locals and visitors alike a boutique gaming and resort experience with the approachable and desired amenities for which Station Casinos is known. But first, it has to be built. This is that story.
It started with the property surrounded by hundreds of team members as Station Casinos celebrated the future of Durango Casino & Resort with a ceremonial groundbreaking in March of 2022.
The company also unveiled the resort’s new logo and icon at this time, and shared additional property renderings of its latest resort, giving the public its first glimpse of what’s to come.
Once ground was broken, the public began to see rapid progress on the construction site in the northwest. The structure sprang up quickly. Hotel rooms began to form.
The “topping off” ceremony, a tradition that signifies the highest point in a building’s core structure being placed, was held in October 2022.
From groundbreaking to topping off to Grand Opening, 18,286 cubic yards of concrete will be poured over 624 tons of steel erected on the site to create one of the most stunning resorts in Las Vegas.
