Station Casinos Contributes $110,000 To Public Education Foundation

Station Casinos reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to local education with a significant check donation of $110,000 to The Public Education Foundation, aimed at supporting the “SmartStart” program across 11 schools in Clark County. The check presentation took place at Howard E. Hollingsworth Elementary School, marking nearly two and a half decades of partnership with the Valley’s educational systems. The event also featured a distribution of back-to-school necessities to the school’s students and staff.

The ceremony was attended by leaders from Station Casinos, and The Public Education Foundation including Kirsten Searer, President of PEF and Jordan Seager, Vice President General Manager of Sunset Station. Principal Staca Sadie shared appreciation and gratitude for the impact the funds made directly on her students and community.

In addition to the monetary donation, various Station Casinos properties hosted volunteer activities and back to school drives at their respective partner schools throughout the month of August. Last year’s funds at Hollingsworth went toward the creation of “calming corners” in classrooms for relaxation and stress management, as well as the establishment of the ‘Camp Hero Room,’ which serves as a reward space for students demonstrating exceptional academic and behavioral achievements. Finally, the funds also support the “Closet for Good,” a resource that provides clothing and personal hygiene items for students in need.

Since 2000, Station Casinos has partnered with the Clark County School District through its Smart Start initiative, managed by the Public Education Foundation, to bolster high-need elementary schools. The partnership involves pairing Station Casinos’ properties with schools to provide year-round support—including classroom volunteering, student mentoring, event hosting and donations of critical resources like backpacks and school supplies.

Additionally, the schools may use the funds to acquire technology, books, teaching materials and student incentives. The company also plans to donate an additional $10,000 for the PEF’s Golden Apple Gala.
