Mix 94.1 FM and Three Square Food Bank gathered at Durango Casino & Resort for a ceremonial check presentation to culminate their week-long effort to battle hunger.

On Friday, September 27, 2024, Station Casinos wrapped up the 4 Corners Food Drive, a collaborative effort with Mix 94.1 FM and Audacy Radio, with a grand finale at Durango Casino & Resort where a significant contribution of $100,000 was presented to Three Square Food Bank. The ceremonial check presentation marked the end of Hunger Action Month, with Station Casinos displaying profound support towards combating local hunger.

The ceremony was held at the Eat Your Heart Out Food Halls and was attended by leaders from Station Casinos, Three Square Food Drive and Mix 94.1 including David Horn, Vice President and General Manager of Durango; Mercedes Martinez and JC Fernandez, hosts at Mix 94.1; and Kate Hibbard Gaines, Principal Gifts Advisor at Three Square Food Bank. During the special event, David Horn completed a live broadcast challenge from Durango with hosts Mercedes and JC. In a highlight moment of the broadcast, he announced a generous donation of $100,000 from Station Casinos to Three Square Food Bank, which was met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the crowd of radio listeners. Mix 94.1 shared on their channels that their week-long food drive had raised an impressive $201,748, significantly boosting support efforts.

The event also successfully prompted attendees to bring cash donations, which directly aided Southern Nevadans struggling with hunger. For every dollar donated, Three Square is able to create three wholesome meals, underscoring the impact of community contributions. The surprise donation by Station Casinos highlights their ongoing commitment to supporting and nurturing the community by addressing one of its most urgent needs—hunger.
