Station Casinos marks a milestone in its dedication to local education with the launch of the 25th year of the Smart Start program and a $120,000 donation to The Public Education Foundation.
The contribution directly benefits 11 schools across Clark County and connects them with Station Casinos properties who provide year-round support.
On Friday, Oct. 3, Station Casinos leaders presented a check to the The Public Education Foundation team during a check presentation ceremony at Mabel Hoggard Elementary School, one of the partner schools of Santa Fe Station.
The $10,000 provided to Hoggard Elementary helped the school create an Animal Science Farm and Zoo to inspire curiosity and promote achievement in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. The school zoo is currently home to 20 reptiles and amphibians, four birds, and 10 mammals. The outdoor garden offers students a chance to grow food from seedlings and eventually create meals from the fruits of their labor.
Station Casinos donated an additional $10,000 for the Public Education Foundation’s fundraiser at the Golden Apple Gala.
